Printed tickets have become a thing of the past as car parking machines go paperless.
The parking payment machines in all Three Rivers District Council public car parks have been replaced with new solar-powered ticketless machines that register car number plates instead of printing tickets.
There is no change to the price of tickets and users are still able to park for free for an hour.

The move is designed to make parking easier for motorists, reduce machine failure, printing and paper use.
Cllr Paul Rainbow, the council’s lead member for transport and economic development, said: “The new ticketless system provides a faster and more efficient transaction.
“It also enables people to get to the shops sooner and with less hassle as it has a significant reduction in user wait time at machines.”
The machines have a large, easy-use keypad to enter the vehicle registration number.
Installation of the new machines and changeover from the old system has been completed over recent weeks.
