A BBC production has been carrying out filming at a house in Bushey.

Film crews were spotted at Rectory Lane, opposite St James Church, from Friday February 16 to Monday 19.

They told residents they were there for series six of the BBC crime drama, Strike, which follows a war veteran turned private detective as he and his assistant solve complex cases that have stumped the police.

Strike is adapted from the detective novels written by J.K. Rowling under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith and the latest series will be based on the sixth book, The Ink Black Heart.

The corporation recently confirmed filming has started by posting a photo of lead actors Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger with a clapperboard for the TV show.

Although the series six release date has yet to be confirmed, it will feature four hour-long episodes.

Residents reacted with excitement to the news online as one commenter wrote: “Oh how exciting. Love that programme!”

Another added: “Love that series, shall look out for that. Filming in Bushey yet again.”
