Cedar Cafe in Cassiobury Park rated 5/5 for food hygiene

A new addition to Cassiobury Park was among several restaurants and takeaways which scooped 5/5 scores after Watford Borough Council environmental officers visited without notice in recent weeks.

The Cedar Cafe, which took over the former Daisy’s in the Park building from March 1, was rated 'very good' overall based on three categories: hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and the management of food safety.

Inspectors assessed these categories to give a rating between zero and five, with the lowest meaning 'urgent improvement necessary' and the highest 'very good'. See the latest 5/5 eateries below.

The Sri Lankan takeaway Island Box, 332 St Albans Road, received a 3/5 rating based on an inspection on February 15.
