A major restaurant chain is set to open a new Watford location at the end of May.

Wagamama will be coming to Woodside Leisure Park’s former Frankie & Benny’s unit within a month, the venue has announced this week.

The pan-Asian chain opening there has been on the cards ever since it entered a planning application for the unit in January. Nothing was officially confirmed at the time, however.

In February, Watford was included in a list of 10 UK locations where Wagamama aimed to open a new branch - before the company’s branding appeared outside the store.

As well as confirming the “end of May” opening for Wagamama, Woodside Leisure Park also shared updates on Starbucks and Nando’s' arrivals.

Both are set to open in the former Chiquito’s restaurant, which has been divided into two, and are apparently “coming summer 2024”.
