The Friends of the Attenborough Fields (FoAF) will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this month.

The group was originally set up to safeguard and preserve Attenborough fields, also known as the Hayden Hill Estate.

The 57 acre field is situated between Bushey and Oxhey.

Since its formation the organisation has successfully fought off developers who wanted to build on the land, including a propsoal for a golf course.

Founding chairman Ian Mackay said: "It is such an achievement, especially as in the process we have secured Woodland Trust Merry Hill, which is one of our biggest achievements over the 20 years."

On Wednesday, November 19 the FoAF will be holding its AGM at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church in King Edward Road from 7.30pm.
