People living in and around Watford have been invited to ‘meet the boss’ of West Herts hospitals.

Samantha Jones, chief executive of Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead hospitals, is hosting ‘meet the boss’ events in December where she will talk through the latest developments in the hospitals.

People attending the 90-minute events will also get the opportunity to give feedback about the services West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides and to ask Mrs Jones any questions they may have.

Mrs Jones said: "I spend a lot of time meeting and speaking with local people and patients about the work of our hospitals, but I am keen to do more.

"I’d encourage as many local people to pop along to one of our events. I’ll be providing an update on the things we’ve done over the last year and on our plans for the future.

"This includes the work we are doing with our partners to develop a long-term strategy for health and social care in west Hertfordshire.

"I’m also keen to hear what people have to say about the services and care we provide and I will do my best to answer as many questions as I can.

"The events are free and I’d encourage people to come along and to let me have feedback."

The ‘meet the boss’ events will take place on:

•    Thursday, December 11, 6pm to 7.30pm - Lecture theatre 1, medical education centre, Watford Hospital
•    Thursday, December 18, 6pm to 7.30pm - Lecture hall, post graduate centre, St Albans Hospital

RSVP is not required, but entry is on a first-come-first-served basis.
