Members of the 6th North Watford Beaver Scout troop are celebrating after winning a competition to design an e-Christmas card in an annual competition run by Chubb Fire & Security Limited.

The competition was open to all Scout, Beaver and Cub groups across the UK as part of Chubb’s ongoing support for The Scout Association. Chubb received more than 50 entries based on the theme "How to enjoy Christmas safely".

In recognition of the 6th North Watford troop’s submission, Chubb marketing and communications manager Jane Garland presented the group with a cheque for £100 to be put towards an outdoor activity that can be enjoyed by the whole group.

Beaver Scout leader Lorraine Morgan said: "Everyone thoroughly enjoyed designing their cards.

"We simply gave them a plain piece of paper, some pointers on what they should include and let them go for it. It was lovely to see the joy on their faces when I read out the letter telling us we had been given one of the runners-up prizes, especially Elizabeth when her name was read out as the winning entry.

"The theme of fire safety tied in well with our recent work on many different dangers to earn a safety badge. The group all said they wanted to do something involving snow, so thanks to the prize money, we are hoping that we can visit the local snow centre to do some sledging."
