Firefighters were called to Rickmansworth last night after smoke was discovered in an office building kitchen.
Fire crews from Rickmansworth and Watford were called to Swan House, formerly known as Comet House, at 12.39am after smoke was seen in the kitchen on the third floor of the building, in Homestead Road.
Andrew Dawson, spokesman for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue said: “There was no obvious signs of fire. There was smoke in the kitchen".
Firefighters remained on scene for 35 minutes and it was believed to have been started “accidentally”.
The building used to be the Comet headquarters, but Three Rivers District Council has been informed developers want to turn it into 59 homes.
