An autism school in Radlett has been rated as outstanding following an inspection from Ofsted.

The National Autistic Society's Radlett Lodge School in Harper Lane, provides primary, secondary and post-16 support to 55 pupils.

They also have a residential building called, The Lodge, that caters for up to 14 pupils on either a weekly or termly basis.

Ofsted inspected The Lodge last month. The inspector said in the report that, "residential pupils thrive in a warm, friendly environment, where their individual vulnerabilities and strengths are recognised."

The report also highlighted how the school put a emphasis on the safety of their pupils and a commitment to continually improve, alongside having well trained and experienced staff, who provide "high quality care."

Jo Galloway, Principal of at the school, said: "It’s testament to the effort of all our staff, pupils and parents that Ofsted have recognised the school’s residential provision as ‘outstanding’. We work hard to make sure that the children and young people in our care have the best education, the best opportunities and the best start in life.

"Autism is a serious and lifelong condition but we’ve seen how the right help and support can help every pupil to fulfil their potential."
