Plans to build new temporary classrooms at four schools across Hertfordshire have been given the go ahead.
Little Reddings Primary School and Bushey Heath Primary School in Bushey, as well as Abbots Langley Primary School in Abbots Langley and Hillmead Primary School in Bishop’s Stortford, will temporarily expand to accommodate up to 30 extra pupils in September.
Abbots Langley Primary School will also create four additional parking spaces.
Permission was granted by the council’s development control committee to build the new classrooms, complete with toilet facilities, on the condition each school develops an appropriate traffic plan.
David Williams, Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Education and Skills, said: “Hertfordshire County Council is committed to ensuring that young people get a good start in life at one of our many excellent schools.
“These classrooms will create the additional space needed to create a positive learning environment, one where young people can get the education they deserve.
“Our primary school expansions programme continues to ensure that we meet the growing demand for places for children starting school.”
