A flooded road has been closed for repairs after a pipe burst, leaving residents without water.

Affinity Water closed North Hill, between Rickmansworth and Chorleywood, near the campsite this morning (March 27).

Although initial work has restored water, many homes will still be facing low pressure in the WD3, WD4, HP3, HP5, and AL8 postcodes.

Affinity Water said: “We’re really sorry if you've got low water pressure. This is due to a burst water main on North Hill in Chorleywood.

“We've been successfully able to restore customers water supplies, however this may be at a slightly lower pressure whilst the repairs are ongoing.”

Repair teams are continuing to work in the road to get water fully restored.

As well as the road closure, which has apparently also left the road impassable to pedestrians, there have also been long delays in nearby Rickmansworth Road.

Hertfordshire Highways warned motorists to avoid the area near the junction with the A404 and Dog Kennel Lane.

Affinity Water added: “Due to a high volume of water from the burst, there's a road closure in place on North Hill from St Clement Danes School to North Hill Pumping Station.

“Once the water has drained away, the road will be back open for road users. We're really sorry for any disruption this causes.”
