Watford's Lee Hodson says he is open to remaining at Vicarage Road next season and will hold talks with Gianfranco Zola regarding his future.

The Northern Ireland international joined Brentford on loan in November but has now returned to the Hornets having made 18 appearances at Griffin Park.

The 21-year-old academy graduate, who has 12 months remaining on his contract at Watford, says he will now speak to Zola about his future at the club.

“I've still got another year there, so I'll go back in the summer and see what they have planned for me," he told the Hounslow, Heston & Whitton Chronicle.

“I'm keeping my options open at the moment. I'll take things as they come and see how pre-season goes with Watford.

“I played three or four games earlier in the season and then a lot of loanees came in, which forced me down the pecking order.

“Zola was happy for me to go out and get games. I've had a text from him now and then to check how I'm doing, so I know he's been keeping tabs on my progress.”
