St Helen's student Jessica Gordon Brown won gold at the British School Judo Championships.
The Year 13 pupil at the Northwood school competed at her first national event which was held at IceSheffield in South Yorkshire.
Brown had three fights, two of which were in the weight group above her section of Under-52kgs and Under-57kgs. The youngster took on opponents, both of her own and higher grades, to eventually win the gold in Years 12 to 13 in her weight groups.
Headmistress Mary Short said: "We are very proud of Jessica’s achievements and wish her every success in her upcoming events in Scotland at the Sportif International. Physical education is an important part of the St Helen’s curriculum and we encourage all girls to enhance their skills through sports competition and participation."
