Adlene Guedioura's Watford stay will end before the final game of the season.

The 29-year-old rejoined the Hornets on loan from Crystal Palace a week ago and made his second debut in Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Fulham, playing a starring role.

However, the Algerian international will miss the Golden Boys’ final game of the season – at home to Sheffield Wednesday – and any subsequent play-off campaign due to him not having enough days left on his emergency loan.

Players are only allowed to spend 93 days on emergency loan during a season so due to Guedioura’s previous 36-day stay, he will only be available for 57 days.

Guedioura excelled during his return on Tuesday but head coach Slavisa Jokanovic insists there is still more to come from the midfielder.

Jokanovic said: “We are not surprised because Guedioura is our old player. He needs a little bit of rhythm and can still play better and we expect he can help us.”

He continued: “It is very good news for us. He is one of our players really. He worked with us two months ago and in that first period I needed some time to know who he is as a player.

“Now I know clearly and I believe he can help us in the games in front of us.

“Guedioura is a player who I definitely spoke about on many occasions. We believe he can help us in the future.”
