It is too early to discuss potential January transfer window arrivals at Watford according to Quique Sanchez Flores, but the Hornets’ head coach insists the club are looking at every player.

Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor is one player who has been repeatedly linked with a January move to Vicarage Road after being released by Spurs once the summer transfer window closed.

However, Flores has been reluctant to discuss the prospect of Adebayor or anyone else joining the Hornets.

Owner Gino Pozzo, chief executive Scott Duxbury, sporting director Luke Dowling and Nicola Salerno handle transfers with the head coach having a limited say.

Asked yesterday if he knew how many players were likely to join when the transfer window opens, Flores was coy.

“I don’t know exactly how many players we will sign,” he said. “I’m not really thinking about that. This kind of thing will disturb the focus in the next match.

“Yesterday (Wednesday) I had a meeting with the sporting director and the people who are working for the club in the transfer market. I don’t like talking about what will happen in two months because it is so far away.”

Watford have made use of the Pozzo family’s scouting network since their takeover of the club in 2012 but Flores insists the Hornets will leave no stone unturned as they prepare for January.

“We are looking at every player; the players we can bring in in the future, the players that went on loan during the summer,” he explained.

“We have eyes for everyone because someone players go out on loan and it’s possible they can come back in the future.

“We need to analyse every opportunity we have in our team."
