The Bedmond Sports and Social Club bandwagon rolled on as their quadruple quest continued with a 1-0 victory over Boreham Wood Reserves in the quarter-finals of the Herts Saturday Intermediate Cup.

The Toms Lane side had already reached the third round of the Anagram Record Trophy and the last eight of the Aubrey Cup and they now have a County Cup semi-final at Royston Town Reserves to look forward to after an Ian Hurst goal saw them through.

Bedmond are due return to Herts Senior County League Division One action on Saturday when they will be aiming to make it 13 wins out of 13 against Hampstead Heath.

The weather again affected the league programme at the weekend but Premier Division champions Belstone beat basement side Hinton 2-1 to boost their hopes of a successful title defence.

Aaron Eales and Drew Tyler were on target for the fifth-placed Radlett side, who are nine points behind leaders Letchworth Garden City Eagles but have played five matches fewer than the table toppers and have games in hand on all but one of the teams above them.

The club directly above Belstone in the table are Hadley Wood and Wingate, but Sarratt helped the champions’ cause with a 4-0 victory over the fourth-placed team.

Elsewhere, Gideon Boateng and Gavin Chatterpaul scored to earn Bushey Sports Club a 2-2 draw at London Lions.
