Jurgen Klopp will make changes to his Liverpool side to face Watford on Sunday after reaching the Europa League Final last night.

After trailing 1-0 from the first leg against Villarreal, the Reds produced an impressive high-intensity display to win 3-0 at Anfield and reach the final in Basel on May 18 where they will face a Sevilla side seeking a third successive triumph in the competition.

While many Liverpool fans’ minds may already be preoccupied with getting one of the 10,200 tickets the club has been allocated for the final, Klopp’s attention is turning to the visit of the Hornets and he confirmed this morning he will look to freshen his side up.

Speaking to the press with his comments reported on the club’s website, the charismatic German said: “As you can imagine, up to now I have only had a few seconds to think about the line-up for Sunday. That’s what we have to do from now on.

“Again, and for sure, we will need the help of the crowd because I don’t know how many more games we’ve had than Watford.

“We will have a few changes for sure and we will try do everything to win this game. We respect this league, we want to have the best position we can get at the end of the season.

“I have made no decision until now so let me see, let me talk to everybody and then we will see. We don’t have to rest players on Sunday for the [final] ten days later. It’s about how the game was yesterday, it was quite intense how everybody could see, so we need to think about this and not Wednesday week.”

Liverpool were beaten 3-0 by Watford in their first meeting this season at Vicarage Road and the manner of that defeat still rankles with the former Borussia Dortmund boss.

After reflecting on the club’s Europa League form compared to the Premier League, Klopp said: “I saw it always that we tried to in the Premier League, not at Swansea or not at Watford, I didn't forget these games.

“For me, the game on Sunday is quite important because maybe it is possible to play one time against a team under our usual level, but it's not allowed to do it twice. So we have to try together that we can show a better face against Watford.”
