Watford midfielder Almen Abdi has completed his medical and is set to sign a three-year deal at Sheffield Wednesday, according to reports tonight.
Abdi appears to have found himself surplus to requirements under new head coach Walter Mazzarri and is on the brink of completing a reported £4 million move to the Owls.
The popular Hornets midfielder made 38 appearances last season but was often used out of position under Quique Sanchez Flores.
Abdi joined Watford in 2012, initially on loan from Udinese, making 130 appearances for the club.
The 29-year-old's exit will disappoint many Watford fans but would suggest the Premier League side have another midfielder lined up to join the club.
The Albanian-born Swiss international has only featured in two of the Hornets' pre-season games and was not involved in Saturday's draw against Anzhi Makhachkala.
Championship side Sheffield Wednesday have also been chasing the permanent signing of Daniel Pudil this summer after the defender spent last season with them on loan.
