Sheffield Wednesday are close to completing the signings of Watford pair Daniel Pudil and Almen Abdi.

Abdi has reportedly completed his medical with the Owls and the Championship club are closing in on a deal for Pudil.

The Hornets defender spent last season on loan at Hillsborough where he made 42 appearances for the side as they were beaten in the play-off final by Hull.

Sheffield Wednesday have been negotiating with Watford over the summer to secure a permanent deal for the Czech Republic international.

Pudil's exit is no surprise with the defender not part of new head coach Walter Mazzarri's plans.

But Abdi's departure will be a disappointment to many fans with the popular midfielder having played a significant role in the club's success over the last four years.
