Herts Junior Cup Semi-Final

Glenn SSC are one more win away from lifting a County Cup after making it through to the final at Letchworth on April 30 with a 4-2 away victory over Fairfield Park to set up a trophy showdown with FC Emperors Head.

Glenn went ahead early on as Luke Lloyd put through Frankie Henley for a composed finish under the keeper.

They continued to dominate the ball and five minutes before the break Bradley Wadkins volleyed home to double the lead.

Early in the second half Sam Clark added a third, again set up by Lloyd.

Fairfield made it a nervy last ten minutes by scoring twice but a Lewis Putman strike in the final minute made sure of Glenn's place in the final.

Premier Division champions North Watford easily overcame First Division Watford Sports 4-0.

The home side started the scoring in the first minute and never looked back, adding a further goal before the break, before two more followed in the second half.

Gurkan Gokmen netted a hat-trick with Reece Cameron also on the scoresheet.

Premier Division Cassiobury Rangers overcame tricky opponents in First Division title contenders Woodside 6-2 thanks to a pair of hat-trick heroes.

Rangers flew out of the traps and with not even a minute on the clock Sam Mortimer found Taylor Osunsedo, who curled a shot into the right corner.

Three minutes later, Cassiobury doubled their lead when Jamie McDougall put a ball over the back line and Nathan Page curved his run perfectly, getting to the ball ahead of the Woodside keeper before slotting home.

The momentum was with Cassiobury, who added a third when a free-kick was well defended and they broke. Page won the ball, which fell to Osunsedo, who returned it to his teammate and he craftily took it round the last man, carried the ball 40 yards and drilled his shot under the keeper.

Woodside got one back when a throw-in was flicked on to Ollie Lawford and he looped the ball over the Rangers keeper into the top right corner.

Cassiobury responded immediately, with Page and Osunsedo linking up again with a one-two after Osunsedo beat his man to put Page through on goal and he smashed it into the right corner past the helpless keeper for his hat-trick.

Woodside pulled a second goal back when a failed offside trap by Rangers left Harry Beaumont free and he deftly lobbed the on-rushing Rangers keeper from around 25 yards.

In the second half Rangers added two more goals from Osunsedo to complete his own hat-trick.

Division One

Second-placed Hertfordshire Eagles beat Langleybury CC 4-2 after recovering from a slow start which saw Robert Bennett put the visitors in front.

Shortly after, Glenn O’Malley stuck a wonderful free-kick into the top corner to equalise, only for Langleybury to take the lead for a second time before the interval with a second goal from Bennett.

Eagles hit back in the second half with James Hicks equalising after a great solo run, followed by two goals from Ed Rogers to give them a vital three points.

Chalfont Saints, who have slipped to the bottom of the table following the folding of AFC Hatch End, gained four points out of a possible six from their double header with Chess United.

The first game was drawn 2-2. Ali Shale scored once in each half with Saints netting twice through Tom Sugrue, including a last-minute penalty.

In the return game Andre Ford scored both goals for Saints in a 2-0 win.

Division Three

The thrilling title race continues with all the main contenders gaining wins.

Leaders Inter edged past bottom-placed PTH United 2-1, Alex Visan and Laurence Brown scoring with Tom Abbot replying.

Three points behind are Batchworth who completed the double over Chorleywood Club AFC in a week with a 4-1 victory, Alex Hollis with a hat-trick and Mikel Walsh getting his 20th goal of the season. Jordan Allen netted the Chorleywood goal.

Everett Rovers enjoyed two wins as they doubled Rio Rovers 3-0 and 1-0.

Emmanuel Ojeah, Michael Dankwa and Leo Broom got the goals in the first game, and a single strike from Louie Muncie was enough to take all three points in the second match.

This means Rovers are up to fourth in the table, seven points behind Inter but with five games in hand.
