Premier Division
Watford Sunday League leaders and champions North Watford came through a remarkable game against Forza Watford as they recovered from 2-0 down to eventually take the points with a 7-6 victory.
Forza raced into an early two-goal lead, but by half-time North Watford were 3-2 in front as first, Lee Armitt pulled one back, Youssef Enajar grabbed the equaliser before Ben Alexander slammed a shot into the top corner.
Early in the second half the game looked over with Alexander turning provider for Ashley Lewis to net, then Ben Hiney set up Armitt to score his second of the game.
However, Forza responded by scoring twice in quick succession, only for Bradley Hilary to make it 6-4, before Forza reduced the deficit again.
The rollercoaster second half continued with Alexander getting his second before Forza completed the scoring.
Giuseppe Delgaudio scored a hat-trick for Forza, with Clayton Blake getting two and Harley Sells one.
Cassiobury Rangers moved level on points with North Watford at the top of the table following a 2-0 home win over Abbots Langley Club.
Rangers won the game with two goals late in the first half, the first coming when Jon Burch carried the ball out from the back and through the middle of the pitch, before laying it through to Rob Ladmore, who took a composed first touch on the edge of the box and dinked his finish over the onrushing goalkeeper.
Momentum was now on Rangers’ side and they soon doubled their lead when Ladmore turned creator, receiving a ball in from the left from Jayden Chamberlain and laying it off to Sam Mortimer, who curled his shot into the net from around 30 yards.
Herts Intermediate Cup Second Round
SOCA made it through to the third round with a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Excel to set up an away trip to St Ippolyts Rangers for a place in the quarter-final.
The match was played in driving rain but SOCA went ahead early on when Micah Evans ran through and calmly slotted home.
They missed three good chances to put the game beyond their opponents by the break and were pegged back in the second half when Excel equalised with a deflected long-range effort.
The home side then thought they had gone ahead but the referee decided the ball had not crossed the line.
The game swung from end to end with chances for both sides but it was SOCA who got the winner when a through ball by Jake Howell found George Coffey who made no mistake.
With Old Fullerians’ home tie falling foul of the weather, the only other two ties played saw the WSL teams exit the competition, both in high-scoring away defeats.
Langleybury went down 6-3 to Welwyn Rangers, Max Ellrington, Luke Hewitt and Kuran Sanghera with the goals.
Watford United lost 4-2 to Wheathampstead Wanderers Reserves, having led 2-0 at the interval.
United started well and went ahead when Ayo Fasanya threaded a precise pass through to Mayvin Vigneswaran who netted.
Vigneswaran struck again just before half-time, this time pouncing on a defensive error to double the lead.
United decided to sit back and defend the lead in the second half, but that proved costly as the home side struck four times to complete the comeback.
Denis Jackson Intermediate Cup First Round
The three ties which survived the weather saw 21 goals scored.
Third Division Chorleywood Club AFC caused an upset when they defeated Second Division Dome Bar 3-2.
Rob Barron, Mike McCourt and George Blanks stuck the goals for the lower ranked visitors with a Jay Haynes brace not enough for the home side.
The all-Third Division tie between AFC Watford and Everett Rovers Reserves produced ten goals with the home side winning through 7-3.
Peter Rock was the star man for the home side as he found the net five times, supported by a goal each for James Scott and Luke Elbourn.
Aidan Hogan, Nathan Fowler and Charlie Powell replied for Everett.
Hertfordshire Athletic beat Bricket Wood Acorns 4-2 with Henry Gibbor and Evan King both netting a brace each.
Jack Micklewright and Alex Michael replied for the Acorns.
Division One
Batchworth gained a first win of the season as they beat Chalfont Saints 3-1 after coming from behind when Geoffrey Adeboye headed in from a corner.
It was Batchworth debutant Craig Mathieson who turned the game in his side’s favour.
First, he dribbled through several defenders before netting a fine solo effort, then an hour into the game he was on the end of a Alex Crawford run and cross.
Mathieson turned provider for the goal to seal the win by setting up Marcus Rivers to net the third.
With Saints defeat, and SOCA in cup action, Watford Sports went back to the top of the table as they beat Chess United 4-0.
It was an easy win in difficult playing conditions, with Taylor Kemp opening the scoring early on.
George Whitman then scored his first goal of the season before Kemp netted twice more in the second half to complete his hat-trick and the win.
The Cross gained a third league win of the campaign with a 2-1 victory over CF Watford Continentals.
Joe Belloni gave Continentals an early lead with a well-taken effort, but The Cross battled back and levelled just before the break when Stribey Wiltshire fired home from close range.
In the second half, David McDonagh scored the winning goal when he tapped home.
Division Two
Everett Rovers have a five-point lead at the top of the division after they swept past Frances George with a 4-0 win.
Two goals were scored in each half, with Jordan Standley netting a brace in the opening period and Archie Potton and Bernard Ankamah finding the back of the net in the second.
St Josephs Reserves are the only other unbeaten side in the division, but they were held to a third draw of the season after an eight-goal thriller with Inter.
Vinson Vasanthakunad, Laurence Brown, James Oldham and Gabriel Casagrande scored for Inter, with two-goal Ben Cowen and a goal each for Robbie Tocher and Luke Stallard replying in the 4-4 draw.
A goal from Phil Clarke was enough for Sparta Phoenix to beat Dunnings Bar1-0.
Division Three
Woodside Reserves made it seven wins from seven as they beat bottom-of-the-table PTH United 5-0.
Tyrone Brandy struck four times with Tom Garratt getting the other goal.
FC Railway are Woodside’s nearest challengers, six points behind but with a game in hand.
They beat Abbots Athletic 5-2, Conall Russell and Henry Capell both scoring braces with Nathan Tannan also on target.
Ben Veal and Dan Lomax got the goals for Athletic.
Surely Wood and Mill Hall Village shared the points after a 2-2 draw.
Danny Linforth and Michael Myers scored for the home side with Aidan Woods and Zaki Karimbahi replying for the visitors.
