Herts FA Junior Cup Quarter-Final

Sparta Phoenix reached the last four of the Herts Junior Cup after coming from behind to beat Bullsmoor United 3-2.

On a day when the weather again decimated the Watford Sunday League fixture schedule, Ralph Thompson fired Phoenix ahead with a well-taken finish on his left foot.

However, the lead was short lived, with Bullsmoor levelling soon after before taking the lead from the penalty spot.

It needed a string of good saves from Sparta keeper Yoni Tsur to ensure his side were only one goal behind at the interval.

The tie was won thanks to two quick-fire Phoenix goals in the second half.

First, Thompson slotted home a penalty for his second goal of the game, then Josh Bulley bundled home from a corner with what proved to be the winner.

The victory sets up a semi-final meeting against Northaw Reserves this weekend for a place in the final at Letchworth on April 14, against Hertford Club De Futbol who won their semi-final on Sunday.
